Driven by global carbon neutrality goals, the green transformation of the steel industry is reshaping the international trade landscape. Recently, several leading domestic steel companies have launched "green steel" products based on hydrogen metallurgy technology, successfully securing procurement intentions from internationally renowned automakers and home appliance brands. Compared to traditional blast furnace smelting, hydrogen metallurgy technology can significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. With the impending end of the transition period for the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the international market is imposing increasingly stringent requirements on the "carbon footprint" of steel products. Chinese steel companies are actively promoting the research and export of green and low-carbon steel through technological innovation and process improvements. This is not only a proactive adaptation to new international trade regulations but also a crucial measure to enhance their global core competitiveness.
